Dylan Goggs

Founder & CEO

Dylan is originally from the UK and moved to Vancouver with his family in 2004. In 2010 after volunteering in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside he launched CleanStart to help reduce waste and bring jobs to the community. Dylan’s vision is to continue to build CleanStart into a solid reputable business that creates as many jobs as possible for people with barriers to employment. Dylan is married with three children and loves hiking the North Shore trails. He attributes his success to the support of his family, community partners, and friends from the business community.

Laura Barreca

Business Development Manager

Laura hails from New York City, but, as a dual Canadian-U.S. citizen, she attended McGill University and obtained her MBA from the Sauder School of Business at UBC. While getting her Bachelor’s at McGill she worked at a variety of positions at a restaurant in the heart of Montreal, eventually becoming the chef-manager and learning hands-on business skills. This led her to Vancouver and to Sauder, where she first learned about social entrepreneurship. Laura has a background working with the disability community in Vancouver, and currently volunteers with a number of non-profits. Laura is an Ultimate Frisbee enthusiast and loves hiking and camping in beautiful BC.

Chris Boyd

Operations Manager

Chris left the corporate world and joined CleanStart to explore a new career with more of a work-life balance. With a solid background in business development and waste management, Chris is able to bring a valuable skill set to CleanStart. After the birth of his daughter, Chris found a new appreciation and care for people. Working with CleanStart has allowed him to connect and make a difference in peoples lives. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering at his local SPCA.
